News: John Foxx – Cathedral Oceans deluxe 5 vinyl reissue

John Foxx is one of those artists who inspires such loyalty among his fans, that every release he makes is greeted with rabid expectation, so the news that his elegant trilogy of Cathedral Oceans (1997), Cathedral Oceans II (2003) and Cathedral Oceans III (2005) is being given the comprehensive deluxe treatment, will no doubt be greeted by a rapturous reception by fans of the former Ultravox frontman.

The studio savvy Foxx began the first of the series prior to 1985’s in Mysterious Ways, but the first instalment would not be released until 1997, when it was hailed as an ambient masterpiece.

This reissue is spread over five 12”s and is accompanied by 12 X 12” art print and a book containing Foxx’s images and passages from his novel The Quiet Man, all of which is encased in a deluxe hardback book set. Every copy of this limited edition run of 750 is hand numbered, which means that this package will inevitably change hands for eye-watering sums among his devoted fans in years to come.

The Complete Cathedral Oceans will be released on Edsel Records on 30 September.
