Track: Cubicolor – Fictionalise

Having already seemingly become the darlings of the alternative airwaves, garnering support from Tom Ravenscroft, Namone, Steve Lamacq and the legendary Pete Tong, Cubicolor – aka Dutch producers Ariaan Olieroock and Peter Kriek, along with former Duologue frontman Tim Digby-Bell, release their debut album Brainsugar this coming Friday (16th September) on the influential Anjunadeep label.

Ahead of it, they’ve released album cut Fictionalise as a little bit of a taster. Built on this dark, late night piano hook that sweeps serenely along, Digby-Bells almost Thom Yorke like vocals give the whole thing a Radiohead feel at the beginning. scattering beats and ripple as it begins to unfurl building to a house beat as the synths become more direct and harmonies drip off the vocal lines. It’s totally beautiful stuff.
