Track: Elkka – Try

Newcomer Elkka has released her debut solo track Try on her own label Femme Culture, ahead of her ‘Try’ EP, which drops in December.

She’s big plans for 2017, including a further two EPs as part of a series – titled Us and Them, and all three will be accompanied by a three part video for each lead track which, when watched consecutively, will have a narrative drawn from Elkka’s own life experiences.

Try bubbles along, full of 90s influences (check out that bassline) and tinny beats, full of boy/girl harmonies and this dancefloor ready groove that makes it completely infectious. It quivers and stutters but is generally driven with this classic house beat, but the melody itself has just that hint of melancholy so it sticks with you.
