Track: Furs – Natives

There’s some pedigree in London four piece Furs, who have announced their debut album Just Kids will be released on 13th May via The House Band Co. Guitarist Liam Wade explains the band got together after chance meetings “Olly [Betts, dummer] and I became friends through playing at shows together after I supported his band The Duke Spirit and I was also part of the Courtney Love set up as live rhythm guitarist. We kept bumping into each other in LA where The Dukes based themselves for their second album. We got in the studio and realised we had some great songs developing, so the next natural move was to bring in my sister Elle on lead vocals and form FURS.”

Doing just that, the band have built quite a following, and thats only set to continue with the release of a new track, Natives. Its shimmering vividly colourful synth/indie/dance-pop, thats built almost equally of these fuzzy synth chords and funked up guitar chords while over the top Elle’s girl group leanings, all hints at melancholy and backing vocals, give a little depth to the pop frill that purveys, driven principally by the sort of catchy melodies most bands would kill for.
