Track: Miya Folick – Talking with Strangers

Talking with Strangers is a new release from the Santa Ana, California singer-songwriter Miya Folick. After growing up in a Buddist family, music was always an important part of her life, but that only really took off when she taught herself to play the guitar in downtime whilst studying Theatre in college.

Talking with Strangers is very much built around that guitar, and its at the core of Folicks sound. There’s a sense of fragility about the broken chords that sway in the echoey, electronic wind that accompanies the track at the beginning. Her vocal, quivering and drenched in emotion, fuels this beautiful melancholy melody, before the instrumentation flexes its more muscular side towards its conclusion.

Oh, its lovely.
