Track: Von Sell – Miss Me

Miss Me is the new single from New York electro-pop artist Von Sell, taken from his self-titled EP, which is out this month, and follows on from the much lauded ‘names’, which hit #1 in the Hype Machine charts.

The son of Israeli singer Esther Ofarim and German filmmaker Philipp von Sell, his destiny was always going to be in the arts, and he honed his skills making bedroom pop before (and no doubt while) attending institutions such as the British Academy of New Music and Humboldt University in Berlin, before winding up at Berklee College of Music, majoring in “Contemporary Writing and Production” and studying the piano.

Recently causing a stir with his prior single, “Names,” which has hit #1 on the Hype Machine charts, VON SELL is back at it again with a new single in tow, “Miss Me.” Quickly proving himself as an indie music staple, his incredible, sonically alluring new single is from his highly anticipated self-titled EP, Von Sell, which was released mid-October.

Miss me is is built on layered and rippling synth lines, as Von Sell’s distinctive vocal winds over the top, processed vocal accompaniments giving it this off-kilter yet stragely beautiful quality to it. As it continues it sweeps along with a certain wistful feeling, driven by the loveliness of the melody. Easy to see why he’s causing a fuss.
