News: Black Stone Cherry To Release Cover EP

Black Stone Cherry are set to release a new cover EP on September 29th titled Black To Blues. The 6 track EP is full of blues covers but all with the signature BSC hard country rock spin on it.

The first track released to the world is a cover of Howlin’ Wolf’s classic Built For Comfort, the original was released back in 1969 and is taken from ‘The Howlin Wolf Album’ which Wolf himself stated that he hated. BSC have taken the classic and focused on each of the different elements within the song; the bass is super noticeable and the lines are slick and overwhelming- but not in a negative way. The guitar solo midway through is punchy and brings the track right back into the 21st Century. The vocals within the middle 8 are full of class- lead singer Chris Robertson’s phrasing is intriguing and it feels almost as if the song was created for his stupendous country rock vocals.

This is just a taster from the EP and here at Backseat Mafia we cannot wait to hear the rest of the tracks!
