Premiere: Harlequiin – Your Hearts Afloat

London based producer and musician Rory Simmons is a musical polymath. A veteran of sessions with the likes of Blur, Jamie Cullum, Paolo Nutini, and, in the last 18 months alone, has appeared on tracks from Labrinth, Mount Kimbie and toured with the Maccabees, and further afield in his work as a session musician.

But it is his Harlequiin project that has come back into focus, as his third EP under the moniker, Your Hearts Afloat, is out on April 16th. From it, we’re delighted to premiere the title track. Right from the off there’s a pure pop heart beating inside, and the track is  shamelessly melodic, but Simmons has wrapped it up in this electro/RnB garb, and twisted and splattered musical lines and ideas all over it, to create this dizzying, restless slice of alt-pop.
