Say Psych: Album Review: The Myrrors – Fuzz Club Session

Rumbling out of the humid, mountainous plains of Tucson, Arizona comes The Myrrors, something of a singular entity in the exploratory psychedelic underground. For over a decade their self-professed “Sonoran trance music” has been inducing states of bewildered paralysis on audiences across the world – when the band are left to their own devices even the most adamant mind will struggle to break free from their enchanting, utterly-mesmeric spell.

With three highly-praised LPs behind them and a fourth scheduled for release soon on Beyond Beyond Is Beyond Records, Fuzz Club have released three of their tracks as part of their live sessions series which has included previous releases from Night Beats, Heaters, Holy Wave, The Underground Youth to name a few. Being long-time favourites of the label, Fuzz Club released their debut album Burning Circles In The Sky, it was only a matter of time until The Myrrors sprawling, sun-weathered drone found a home in the Fuzz Club Session collection.

The release is comprised of three tracks; one is taken from their 2015 opus Arena Negra (‘Juanito Laguna Duerme Cos Los Grillos’), one which was released back in 2016 (‘Semillas Sembradas’) and a new cut from their forthcoming album, Borderlands, to be released later this year (‘Note From The Underground’). All three tracks offer a tantalising glimpse of how special their live performances are and anyone who has witnessed that will appreciate the beauty of this release. A must for any collector and fan of the band.
