The late May Bank Holiday weekend once again see’s the psychonautic compass point to Eiger Studios, Leeds for the 5th Karma Fest. And once again, the line-up (to quote a friend) ‘is an absolute belter!’
Running right through the day, well into the night and through to the early hours of the morning, an impressive array of the UKs finest psych outfits will be sharing the stages with their brothers and sisters from across the pond – Rishi Dhir (the man who adds the sitar to Brian Jonestown Massacre, Black Angels, and The Horrors) brings his own band, Elephant Stone, over from Canada. LA headbenders, Triptides are coming to melt your mind, along with fellow Californians, “Hells own house band” Death Valley Girls – who, if reputations are to be trusted, are on the must see bands coming over to these shores from the US this year.
From the bands we’ve seen before; home grown talent and personal favourites Baba Naga will no doubt weave their magic and turn the venue into a sonic temple. Telegram never fail to impress, and if you haven’t already, you simply must experience Glasgow’s Cosmic Dead.
Past favourites Dusst, Wild Birds of Britain, and, (erm???, not quite sure how you would describe them, for seeing truly is believing) The Girl Sweat Pleasure Temple Ritual Band Return to the Space Ritual stage.
We’re looking forward to seeing all of these and the many new, to us at least, bands on the bill. (Full line up below).
