Say Psych: Track Review: Nest Egg – Long Night Outside

Nest Egg have this week been announced as the latest addition to the Fuzz Club roster, with the LP Nothingness Is Not A Curse set for release on 13th April.

The Asheville, North Caroline trio describe their trippy, kosmische psychedelic rock as ‘mood music for nihilists’. Following a handful of tapes and singles, in 2015 the band released their debut album Respectable, which cemented their minimalistic kraut-punk jams as an exciting Stateside prospect.

In preparation for the album release, the band are sharing ‘Long Night Outside’. The five minute track channels energy from the offset with a pacey motorik backbeat overlaid with delay heavy vocals and bouncing guitar rhythms. This track acts as a perfect introduction for anyone not familiar with the band and will appeal to their loyal fan base to boot.

Previous Track: The Monochrome Set - Stage Fright
Next Track: Del & Amp Live - Wheel of Fortune
