Taken from the recent album ‘Do to the Beast’ album, and following on from Algiers and Matamoros comes a new video from legendary Alt-Rockers Afghan Whigs. Lost in the Woods is the latest track on the album to get a video makeover (is that really the right term) directed by longtime collaborator Phil Harder.
The track begins with the piano picking out a low bassline, as guitars present themselves as single sounds, almost an effect, before the drums join to give the track some drive. It bursts into life shortly after, and swaggers around like some kind of slacker grunge/indie rock. There’s hints of Smashing Pumpkins in there as well as the familiar Whigs sound, and its furnished by a flash of memorable melody.
The band have also announced this morning a second European tour starting at the beginning of February 2015 with shows in Dublin, Edinburgh and London, before playing shows in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Poland, Sweden, Spain and Israel.
