Backseat Mafia has once again been asked to take part in Scarborough’s Coastival festival – www.coastival.com – The festival runs from Friday 12th of February right through to the evening of Sunday 14th. We’ll be there from Saturday lunch time right through to the bitter end bringing you an almost no stop barrage of some of the best and diverse up and coming acts around. ALL FOR FREE !!!

Kicking off on Saturday the 13th at noon, we”ll be bringing back a few of our friends from last year as well as introducing some brand new acts alongside some well established Backseat Mafia favourites. Whats more it’s all for FREE !!! Based in the rather majestic surroundings of the Spa Pavillion, you’ll be able to find us at the top of the staircase straight in front of the main entrance – look out for the Backseat Mafia, or just follow your ears, ‘cos it’s gonna be loud. Very loud !

Saturday’s line up is split over two time slots – 12noon until 8pm, when we take a short break so as not to distract from Asian Dub Foundation who’ll be playing on the main stage right next door. Then we are back again around 10:30 to take it over into the early hours of Sunday. Sunday, we’re back on at noon through ’til around 5pm, with a slightly, but too much, chilled out line up. There’ll be merch stalls, a fully licensed bar and you’ll get the chance to meet with and chat to the bands. Whatever your musical persuasion, if you read Backseat Mafia you know you won’t be disappointed. We look forward to seeing you there.

As well as the Backseat Mafia stage there will be a whole host of other events taking place over the weekend – storytelling for kids, art exhibitions, workshops, an underwater disco (???) plus more live music . Friday night the festival play host to Cast with support from another our favourite bands, Two Skies. Saturday you can catch the irrepressible Snake Davis, as well as the afore mentioned Asian Dub Foundation to name but a few.

But most of all we’d like you to come along and join us for what we promise will be a weekend hard to forget.

To whet your appetite, heres a selection of tunes from some of the acts we’ll be featuring.
