Gengahr reveal the video for their bright and breezy single ‘Before Sunrise’, which features a teenage moped gang and plenty of attitude.

The North London four-piece – Felix Bushe (vocals/guitar), John Victor (guitar), Danny Ward (drums) & Hugh Schulte (bass) – have shared the video for ‘Before Sunrise’, taken from their second album ‘Where Wildness Grows’ (released 9th March via Transgressive Records).

Shot over two days on location in Casablanca in Morocco the video features teenage moped gang, The Anfa Riders. Referring to themselves as ’stunters’, they gather in huge groups on the outskirts of the city in a bid to avoid the authorities who, given the opportunity, will confiscate the cheap import mopeds they ride.

The video for ‘Before Sunrise’ (watch it below) is as summery and smile-inducing as the track. There is an effortlessly cool and laid-back vibe running through it, reflected in the smiles on the faces of The Anfa Riders and the dance moves of the kids in the streets of Casablanca.

Director Jamie Whitby said of the video:

“This one’s super special for me – the culmination of multiple trips to Morocco and months of WhatsApp chats in very dodgy French trying to convince The Anfa Riders to let this weird guy from London come and shoot with them. Huge thanks to the guys for having us and a big shout out to our local fixer Karim El-Amri and my amazing tiny crew – Sorcha, Jack, and Ruben – who somehow made it all happen in one of the maddest cities in the world.”

The band have also announced the second edition of their Gengahr Gallery. Following the success of 2015’s event, the exhibition will feature artwork from the band’s Hugh Schulte – alongside pieces from members of Slaves, Alt-J, Toothless, Puppy – and runs from 14th – 20th March at A-Side B-Side, Hackney.

Whether it’s sharing stunning new music, showing acrobatics from the coolest stunt riders or showcasing original art, the Gengahr guys are giving us plenty to marvel at.
