See: The Van T’s reveal new video for ‘Bitter Sweet’

Still from the video for The Van T's single 'Bitter Sweet'

The video for The Van T’s latest single ‘Bitter Sweet’ provides a tantalizing glimpse of their mesmerising – and award-winning – live performance.

‘Bitter Sweet’ (out now via LAB Records) is the latest single from the Glasgow four-piece of Hannah and Chloe Van Thompson (guitar, vocals), Joanne Forbes (bass) and Shaun Hood (drums). The single and accompanying video come on the back of them deservedly scooping Best Live Act at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards 2017, as well as their recent high-profile support slots for Wolf Alice in Dundee and The Jesus & Mary Chain in Glasgow.

The Van T’s haven’t let the pace of their progress slow at all in the past year and this is reflected beautifully in the video for ‘Bitter Sweet’. It documents the infectious energy of their live shows intercut with backstage antics including fellow band pals Avalanche Party, Llovers, Clean Cut Kid, The LaFontaines and KYKO. Having seen them play live a few times I can guarantee that the high-octane performances shown in the video aren’t due to clever editing. They radiate style with substance on stage – the combination of their musical prowess and snarling attitude compelling even the quietest crowd to dance.

The track features their now trademark blend of crunching garage rock and surf vibes. The catchy “sweet but bitter” chorus shows off the sugar-coated but biting vocals and the song culminates in a roar of feedback-drenched guitar that will drive any audience wild.

With ‘Bitter Sweet’ The Van T’s cement their status as the ones to watch – and you can do just that at the following dates:

11th November – North Britain Festival, Stockton
21st November – The End Festival – The Social, London
22nd November – Jimmys, Manchester
