SEE: Toro y Moi Announces New LP ‘Boo Boo,’ & Video “Girl Like You”

Following on from last years simmering and sparkling ‘Live from Trona’ and the outstanding interstellar ‘Star Stuff’ collaboration with equally ingenious act The Mattson 2 yet. Chaz, the Bear formerly known as Bundick, has announced that, with his band, as Toro y Moi will release a new LP this summer. The first track shared from the forthcoming album comes via the video for “Girl Like You”. A nostalgic, 1970’s, Beatles solo work kind of affair. The video is a soft-focus, dreamy sequence, blended with 1980’s cubism and visual computational experimentation. As always there’s the trademark tones of humour and playfulness.

Fans of Toro y Moi will appreciate detectable tones of  previous hits like ‘Grown Up Calls’ and ‘High Living’ in the new material, and Chaz stated that, the trajectory of this album was orientated by influences ranging from Daft Punk and Frank Ocean through to Travis Scott and Kashif. Going by that and how this gorgeous pop song sounds, it seems like Chaz has emerged refreshed and that the new album will make a perfect soundtrack to the summer.

The new Toro Y Moi album ‘Boo Boo,’ is released through Carpark Records on July 7th. Check the Carpark and Toro Y Moi social media for Pre-order details
