See: The Wave Pictures announce UK Tour / Pea Green Boat Video

Here’s an apology. We tried and tried so hard to bring The Wave Pictures to Sheffield for the viewing and aural pleasure of the music loving masses of the Steel City in one of our Backseat Mafia presents evenings, but (and this is for the second time) the dates just didn’t work out.

So, sorry. We will try harder next time. Promise.

However, the band have announced a pretty extensive tour for next February that runs through (pretty much) the whole of the month, starting in Cambridge at The Portland Arms, running through 17 towns and cities up and down the country, before finishing at Ramsgate Music Hall. Their brand new album, Great Big Flamingo Burning Moonl, drops in the middle of the tour, on February 16th via Moshi Moshi, and is a collaboration between the band and legendary Billy Childish which saw Childish take care of the music, while the bands Dave Tattersall wrote the lyrics.

They’ve released a  video for the first track the pair wrote together, Pea Green Coat. It’s a bustling bluesy indie, with this romping, but cut back accompaniment with Tattersall vocal sharing focus with harmonica and the searing guitar solo. It follows a man spiralling out of control on a drunken bender after catching his partner cheating on him.
