Track: Ari Roar – Don’t have a fit

Ahead of his debut album Calm Down, out 25th May via the ever brilliant Bella Union, Ari Roar aka Caleb Campbell has revealed a new track taken from it, titled ‘Don’t Have A Fit’.
Of the track, Caleb says “I wrote the song during a bit moving around the country. To me it’s about confronting anxiety. How it can be exacerbated by going full steam for too long. I remember having a moment while recording it where I felt like it wasn’t going to make the cut. It was one of those moments in a project where you step back and wonder if this is worth the effort. Where self doubt really starts to enter your mind. But then I added drums to the track and all that melted away. It gave me a new burst of confidence going into the other songs on the record”
It’s this engaging slice of slacker rock, Campbells vocals in wistful story telling mood over this effortlessly melodic and slightly spiky, twisted accompaniment that constantly catches you on the wrong foot. If it don’t make you smile and cast a longing look over your stuff/people/places, then you need to loosen your belt a notch and chill out a bit. Seriously.
