Track: Bilk – Give Up

Young Essex three piece Bilk hare about to released their debut single Give Up, produced by Rich Turvey (Blossoms, The Coral) in Parr Street Studios, Liverpool. Lead singer Sol Abrahams described the track as being about “The idea of not giving up your aim when you’ve got your surroundings and other things going on in life distracting you. Hence the ‘trying not to flop my college course and then get employed” bit”.

Despite the band having only just all turned 18, they handle the subject of their lives, both the humdrum and the ambition with some skill, over their jagged, stuttering indie-post-punk backing, complete with singalong chorus and a bassline that wraps itself around your ears.
