Track: Datarock – Laugh in the face of Darkness

The long awaited return of Norwegian synth act Datarock is gathering pace. Ahead of their first album in nine years – Face the Brutality, out on March 9th on YAP Records, the band have announced a second single ‘Laugh in the face of darkness’, following on from Ruffle Shuffle, which dropped at the end of last year.

Dark in it tone, but packed with swathes of synths, and bubbling electronics, Laugh in the face of darkness is this slice of sensual synth pop, the slightly angular style of the melodies and octaves in the backing vocals almost have a stamp of Martin Gore about them, and that is meant as high praise.

Face the Brutality will be released March 9, 2018 on YAP Records.
