Track: Drinks – Corner Shops

Cate Le Bon and Tim Presley (White Fence) have teamed up for a second album as DRINKS. The new album, Hippo Lite, will be released on Drag City worldwide on April 20, 2018. DRINKS began in 2015 with the release of their debut LP, Hermits on Holiday on Presley’s own Birth Records.

Despite DRINKS creating a fair buzz around them and recognition from their musical peers, their musical offerings are certainly a specific taste. This is showcased perfectly with the new single, streaming here:
‘Corner Shops’ is a bizarre and playful melting pot of so much they’ve almost invented a new genre. Sitting somewhere between Devo, Talking Heads and the soundtrack to someone with a lot of personal problems, this is at best groovy and at worst unhinged.  If you like your music more art than toe tapping, then this is the song for you.
