Track: Hexmaze ‘Hex Hex Hex’

London five-piece Hexmaze are shimmering under a veil of lurching guitarwork and witchy incantations on their debut single ‘Hex Hex Hex’. They are the musical mergence of Aneta, Alex, Emma, Mel and Sophie – five women brought together from the UK, Sweden, Poland and Mexico, drawing together a mosaic of influences and creative minds. While their instrumental arrangement has the sharp groan of a switchblade, the airy chorus of their voices lifts the track up so that it is almost otherworldly, straddling the boundary between heaven and hell. Make no mistake: Hexmaze aren’t here to play nice. Their ethereal set-up unravels into a ferocious last hurrah, which, in the true spirit of punk, loses all control. It’s a fact: Hexmaze have made the promise that the UK is theirs for the taking.
