There’s nothing like a bit of rollicking rock’n’roll tinged with a dash of Rockabilly, and there is nothing quite like Louis Antoniou either – or at least not since The Clash or The Stray Cats. His new single, ‘You Ain’t The Girl’ is a sweet slice of southern-infused rock direct from the bayou – well – London to be precise, laced with a bit of humour and a lot of swagger. It really is a fresh mint julep on a hot sunny day:

Antoniou has the perfect vocal range for the material – with, dare I say, a touch of Elvis – and he is complimented by the bluesy instrumentation and some serious musicianship. Real guitars, pianos, bass and drums. A lot of damned fun.

Antoniou says “I writes about doomed romances, the Uber crisis and of trending twitter topics like Love Island. My sound derives from my love of 60’s alternative music with a bluesy/folk twist. I want everyone at my shows to laugh with me at the despair which we are surrounded in, and dance on its grave whilst singing my songs”.

This is the first of five singles Antoniou will be releasing this year. Other tracks to be released are:

Lonesomeville/I Let The Rain Fall Hard
Masters of Distraction
Rag Doll
