Track: Night Flowers – Cruel Wind

Dream pop at its best, the new single by London-based band Night Flowers – Cruel Wind – is nothing short of gorgeous. With generous slabs of melody that hug you and won’t let go, chiming guitars and vocals that are melancholic and sweet, it is crystalline pop that uplifts and sets the heart racing.

The accompanying video perfectly captures the wide-eyed romanticism of Night Flowers. Made by filmmaking duo James Doherty and Laura Whittell it features the brave astronauts facing training, the isolation, the pressure and the fear: obstacles they must endure to realise their dream – to explore the great beyond:

The song paints a wide expansive romantic landscape and I am reminded of bands like a restrained Cranberries, The Sundays and Lush as well as the entire Creation Records catalogue. The single is available here and is from the forthcoming album ‘Wild Notion” due out on 13th April on Dirty Bingo Records and available to preorder now.

Night Flowers are:
Sophia Pettit (vocals + keys), Chris Hardy (guitar + vocals), Sam Lenthall (bass), Zebedee Budworth (drums) and Greg Ullyart (vocals + guitar)
