Track: Tenderlonious – Hard Rain

Not so much having finger in pies, more Ed Cawthorne, aka Tenderlonious, seems to have his own pie shop right at the moment. The flautist and sax player, DJ, producer, 22a records boss, and leader of the 22archestra and Ruby Rushton jazz ensembles is about to release his new album, titled Hard Rain. He’s shared the title track ahead of its release on June 14th.
Hot on the heels of the brilliant Ruby Rushton ‘Ironside’ album, he’s shown another string to his bow, moving away from the jazz, and sidling up to Dilla-espue deep house / future funk instead. There’s this shuffling house beat at the start that gives way to repetitative bass figure and these gooey synth chords. As it flowers so layers are added and it bubbles away, never losing this summery laid back feel
