Munich based quartet KYTES are set to run on an upward trajectory in 2020, with new album ‘Good Luck’ the follow up to “Heads & Tales” released back in 2016.
They seem have taken a more direct approach to bringing in new listeners to their Indie-Electronic-Pop, and this full length smacks of new horizons, although the core sound is still built on infectious foot tapping sing along beautiful melodies. It seems to be stretching out into territory that will 100% fit a festival summer and crowds looking for instant danceability and lyrics that stick. Bluntly put, its more commercially radio friendly and you can easily see them scoring huge crowds around Europes live scene.
An 11 track fest of catchy infectious riffs, and hooks that when thrown out will not only snag you, but will reel you in with its funktastic beats and snappy pop filled rhythms. Songs Like “Fast Life” with its Two Door Cinema Club sensibilities of sound, but with KYTES own inimitable love thrown all around it, and then “Emily” which feels full of influence but somehow never really falls into the trap of mimicking anything, instead drawing it’s own beautiful pictures in your head.
Truthfully, this album has so many magical musical moments of softness, along with originality of lyric that its hard not to be taken away from the moment and find yourself firmly in a field somewhere with friends old and new, drinking, dancing, chilling and generally feeling like nothing else matters.
It has to be said that if your looking for something that isn’t gonna bog you down in emotional turmoil or bother you with world problems, but instead take you away for a while, then this is it! KYTES coming to a festival near you for sure.
