News: Desperate Journalist launch debut LP.

Maybe it’s the 12 string Rickenbacker; maybe it’s the soaring heartfelt vocals, the slick drumming, or the subtle basslines. Whatever it is Desperate Journalist have it all, the beauty, the intensity, and the majesty, that turns good British indie music into Great British indie music. Their sound will fall easily on the ears of fans of The Smiths, but listen closer and you’ll find echoes of The Cure, a touch of Echo and the Bunnymen, in fact everything that is, and has been, great about British indie music.

Since forming in early 2013, the band has released a couple of singles and an EP. All quite glorious. All having you aching for more. Now with the release of their debut album, that ache is over. Self-titled, ‘Desperate Journalist’ was recorded at Soho’s Dean Street Studios. The tracks were captured almost live by producer Keith TOTP, with the band doing their own mixing and even designing their own sleeve art.

It’s early days yet, but this could be 2015’s ‘Silence Yourself’ and easily become the must have album of the year.
