Animal Collective reveal new video for ‘Sand that Moves’, taken from Crestone movie soundtrack

Out right now is the debut feature film Crestone, written and directed by Marnie Ellen Hertzler in partnership with Memory. Hertzler enlisted the services of experimental indie act Animal Collective to provide the score to the movie, which will be out physically on April 23. From it the band have revealed a new video for the track Sand that Moves, taken from the Soundtrack.

Shimmering cascades and picked guitars break through the initial static lines of ‘Sand that moves’, as it breaks into this gently undulating indie folk track, that sparkles with its instrumentation and ingenuity, despite being an instrumental.

Of the soundtrack, Ellen Hertzler says: “The town of Crestone is not only the location of the film, but also an important character. I wanted a score that was able to highlight and elevate its importance. There are no musicians I’d rather work with more on this film, and no band that can sonically describe a landscape better than Animal Collective can.”
