From the press photo above, it looks like Los Angeles quartet Foxx Bodies are waiting for something important, and that’s probably the release of their forthcoming second album, which has been done since pre-pandemic times. They’ve got a little bit more waiting to do, but it’s got a title, release date and lead single in the meantime. Said lead single is the restless ‘Bad Kid’, which accomplishes a lot in a hair over two minutes.

Vocalist Bella Vanek says of the track that it’s ‘a shape-shifter. When I am feeling happy and optimistic, it is so fun to sing and scream and it gives me energy. On a bad day, I weep while singing this song and my stomach hurts and the screaming feels like every piece of me leaving my body. It sounds so dramatic, but I swear this song could fit into any moment of my life and be relevant.”

It’s been kicking around for more than four years at this stage, per this 2017 live take, but the finished product and its very fun video are available for respective listening and viewing below. It serves as the first official taste of Vixen, due on Friday November 5th via Kill Rock Stars and the follow-up to their very good 2016 self-titled debut album. What we’re saying is listen to Foxx Bodies, OK?
