Live Review and Gallery: No-one’s complaining – Moaning Lisa return to Sydney

Moaning Lisa played a blistering set, perhaps their last at The Lansdowne, which will be closing later this year to make way for a hostel.

The band ripped through tracks from their album ‘Something Like This But Not This’, released in August 2021. Standouts from the album played live were ‘Inadequacy’ and ‘Enough’. Crowd Favourite ‘Carrie (I Want a Girl)’ saw the band going at full tilt, with the audience lapping up the onslaught and begging for more.

In an article the NME quipped that Charlie Versegi could sing a shopping list and make it sound sincere and soulful, live she does not disappoint. Her voice soars above the feedback and sonic assault of the band that is led by guitarist, Ellen Chan.

Moaning Lisa are a formidable foursome who were in top form tonight.
