Track: Ablebody – Backseat Heart

Like we weren’t going to cover something that utilised (albeit completely independently, naturally) Backseat, right? Ablebody are LA based identical twind Christoph and Anton Hochheim, members of Pains Of Being Pure At Heart / Depreciation Guild, and they’ve been releasing records under this moniker since 2013.

They’ve now stepping things up, moving from bedroom to studio and drafting in Cole M. Grief-Neill (Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Nite Jewel, Julia Holter, The Samps) and Kenny Gilmore (Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti) to build something a little more (soncially) structured, and have added Daniel Rosenbaum (Pomar) and Jordan Sabolick (Mt. Ossa) to their line up to help bring the tracks to life.

The bands debut full length record Adult Contemporaries will be released by Lolipop Records on October 14, 2016 and from it, they’re streaming Backseat Heart. It’s full of chiming synths and sophisticated soundscapes, but essentially it’s a warm , engaging pop record, and a very good one at that. It struts and shimmy’s onwards, but in such an attractive, almost prefab sprout way, its verging on impossible not to like.
