Track: Andrew Weatherall – Confidence Man, Plus Album News

Andrew Weatherall - Confidence Man

Anyone of my age will know Andrew Weatherall best as being the man who took Primal Screams indie rock track ‘I’m Losing More Than I’ll Ever Have’ and turning it into the anthem that was ‘Loaded’. It was a career defining moment for Bobby Gillespie and the boys, and gave them one of their biggest and most memorable tracks. In fact make that of the nineties as a whole. Since then he has switched between his duties as a producer, remixer, and artist in his  own right.

On February 26th next year, he is back with a brand new solo album ‘Convenanza’. The first cut to be released from it is ‘Confidence Man’. It’s a funky epic of a track that fully encompasses all those trippy bleeps and drum loops that he is known for. It would have fit in nicely in a set at the Hacienda. But there’s no doubt that even all these years on into his career, he is still producing cool and relevant dance music that sounds just as good in today’s market. The new track seems to give great promise that the new album will provide us with more huge tracks.
