Track: Bring me the Horizon – True Friends

“True friends stab you in the front,” according to Sheffield five Bring me the Horizon’s Oli Sykes on their new single True Friends, taken from their recent That’s the Spirit’ album. Not that it matters to the band, who have become one of the biggest bands in the World, with a Top 2 album, dominate Radio 1’s playlist with 260 plays of ‘Drown’ alone, and sell over 2 million albums worldwide to press.

True Friends begins with this unassuming backing over which Sykes delivers his heartfelt lines until it bursts into life, full of muscular guitars and melodic synths, as the boys do what they do so well, and deliver supersize melodies, riffs, chorus’ and these thrilling, almost euphoric highs. Which is why, I guess, they’re one of those biggest bands in the world right now.
