Polica bassist Chris Bierden is a staple on the Minneapolis music scene – contributing both bass and vocals to the last two Har Mar Superstar records, as well as being involved in projects such as Heavy Deeds, Pony Trash, and Bones & Beeker. He releases his first solo album on 11th November under his Invisible Boy moniker through Totally Gross National Product.
From it comes a track – All the Kids, of which Bierden comments “Music activates memory, the repetition of it can become a way of preservation. I made a promise to myself when I was young that I would not forget how intensely I was able experience the world. This song is an attempt to make and preserve a little picture of that time and place when everything burned a little brighter. It also describes the inevitable act of letting go. But time does not diminish, it only makes anew.”
All the Kids is this sweeping 70’s style ballad, with faraway vocals and twin (or at least harmonised) guitar lines, that transport you back to a warm, sunshiney evening, where Ford Capri’s were things to be lusted after and wearing a knitted turtle necked ponchos raised you to legend status.
