KNAME, if you didn’t already know, is one half of Mt Eden. He has his own identity as well though, and he’s revealed his debut track, Dynasty that shares some of the traits of his partnership, laced as it is with intricate layers and thoughtful production. He’s recently played his first show, at a secret warehouse party in Brooklyn, and Dynasty is available right now on Free Download.
It opens with scraping electronics and trap beat, backed by these wobbly synths, and the basslines are deep. KNAME cuts things up, both in the accompaniments and in the vocal cut ups he employs to knit things together. Its barely moves along, this walking pace swagger about it – never rushed, but always cooking.
