New Music: Austin punks Krum Bums release new track,Smoke

Sometimes you need Krum Bums. Ever been out, had a few drinks and suddenly this idea pops into your head and says ‘Right, I’m tired now and I must proceed immediately to bed, stopping only at the Kebab shop (extra chilli sauce / no salad always seems to be part of the suggestion as well), when in actual fact all you really want is that little shot of adrenalin to go back into the bar/pub/club (delete as appropriate) and continue with whatever brand of socialising you do. Its then when you need Krum Bums.

Out on Record Store Day, November 28th is the new 12″ from Austin, Texas quintet Krum Bums via Jailhouse Records. From it the band are streaming a new song, Smoke which is just the adrenalin  shot you need.

Seriously, if Smoke doesn’t leave you breathless at the end, with its supercharged driving punk, then there must be something wrong. Everything is a hundred miles an hour, from the chopping guitar playing to the huge riff that bridges the verse and chorus, to the lyrical delivery of Dave Tejas, hollering and barking his way through this a terrific speed. It doesn’t even make it (quite) to two and a half minutes, it’s given me enough of a buzz to keep me awake half the night….
