See: The Belle Brigade announce new album news, watch “Back Where You Began” video

There’s some good genes at work in the new music from LA duo Belle Brigade. The siblings, Barbara and Ethan Gruska’s father songwriter/composer Jay Gruska while their grandfather is esteemed film composer John Williams. These genes have been successfully passed down, with sugary melodies and skillful arrangements alongside lovely harmonies and clever interplay the order of the day, while the two take the likes of Peter Gabriel, John Lennon, The Beach Boys, Sly Stone and Harry Nilsson as inspiration.

Out on December 1st is the bands debut album, Just Because, out on December 1st via ATO Records. To get a taster of whats to come, take a listen (and a look) at Back Where You Began (How to Get Back Where You Began). It’s enthralling, intimate pop music, that draws you in with its sugary, countrylike harmonies and sweet melodies, and wrings the emotion out of you with its delivery. Underneath, its stripped back, relying on little more than guitar sounds for the most part, but gradually allowing strings and a gentle ripple of percussion to join.

Beautiful, incredible things, genes are.
