New York punks The Jukebox Romantics channel their inner Mariah Carey for new video ‘Hey Nora’

Taken from their forthcoming EP ‘Fires Forming’ – out on December 17th via Sell the Heart Records (U.S.) and Engineer Records (UK), New York based punk quartet The Jukebox Romantics have just released the new video for ‘Hey Nora’, which channels the bands inner Fantasy-era Mariah four the shoot, which took place at the historic Rye Playland.

“This is the same location where Mariah Carey shot her famous ’90s era ‘Fantasy’ video, Rye Playland, which is iconic because of how old it is. Especially that coaster the Dragon Coaster,” says singer/guitarist Mike Terry. “So we went for a shot for shot in homage to her video and to Tom Hanks’ Big since that movie was filmed in the same spot. The only difference is that we did it with a DIY guerrilla filming technique and not a giant Mariah 1990s budget.”

Light hearted it may be, but the band have built a following over the last 13 years, featuring at Gainesville’s Fest, Warped Vans Tour, Pouzza Fest, SXSW and more. It’s in your face, classic punk in the vein of Alkaline Trio, Samiam and the like, with huge tunes and vein pumping adrenaline soaked backing. It’s a rush of tune, and should have you jumping around wherever you listen to it. So be careful.

The video was directed and produced by Michael Fels, with cinematography by Tommy Schutz and editing from Alan Torres. MNTLST8 handled sound mixing. Check it out, here

The single is available for purchase at the band’s Bandcamp.

Catch the band live at The Fest in Gainesville, Florida, from October 29-31.
