Courteeners mark the 10th anniversary of their debut album St. Jude with the release of a new, fully re-recorded version of the album. Ahead of St. Jude Re:Wired (6th April), the band release a new version of one of their most iconic songs – Not Nineteen Forever.
Originally released in April 2008, St. Jude charted at no 4 in its first week and went on to win the inaugural Guardian First British Album award, beating albums by Duffy, Adele and Glasvegas. The record saw Courteeners present to the world outside a first set of songs that perfectly soundtracked modern life in the UK.
Not Nineteen Forever (Re:Wired) is a gorgeous reimagining of a true Courteeners classic. Driven by sweeping strings and piano, the track features one of Liam Fray’s most perfectly realised lyrics, the tale of “an older woman and an ever so slightly younger man. The single is available now and impacts on the 6th April.
Courteeners have also announced two warm up shows for their sold out gigs in London and Manchester
