NEWS: Crime in Stereo lead Amityville Music Hall benefit compilation with first new music in over a decade

In February, the Long Island Emo show promoters collective released The AMH Comp, seeking to raise funds for the Amityville Music Hall, which remains closed due to its intimate capacity of just 75 people, making a permitted reopening unfeasible at the moment. The 26-track compilation featured new music and covers from Long Island scene staples and newcomers alike; Volume 2 hit Bandcamp earlier this afternoon and one-ups its predecessor with a whopping 34 songs on offer.

Kicking off the whole thing is the first new music in 11 years from Crime in Stereo, who originally hung it up in 2010, the same year they released their then-swansong I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone, before reuniting in 2012. No news on its long-awaited follow-up quite yet, but for now, there is the ferocious drive of ‘The Good Empire’, which you can stream here, as well as the rest of the collection – available for $15 – which also features music from Iron Chic, Macseal, twentythreenineteen and loads more; incidentally, the last planned Bandcamp Friday, for now (in which the platform waives its cut of fees), is on Friday May 7th.
