News: Last Night From Glasgow to release fundraising compilation

Not-for-profit label Last Night From Glasgow have launched The Isolation Sessions, a compilation to be released on vinyl, CD and digital download in order to raise funds for their beloved Glasgow venues and record shops affected by the Covid-19 lockdown.
Featuring artists from the label’s roster covering their favourite past releases from LNFG acts. The project has submissions, all recorded at home – in isolation – from Carla J Easton, Cloth, Bis, Close Lobsters and more.
Speaking about the importance of the project, label founder Ian Smith said, “It is clear to us that our valued venues will struggle during the lockdown. So to ensure they are still here for us when we can leave our homes, we have decided to help.’’
All money raised by sales of the compilation will be donated to the venues affected by the recent cancellations of the label’s gigs. All production costs will also be borne by LNFG and the label will be donating 10% of its income from the remainder of the year to the same venues as well.
Not only is this looking like an essential project, if the first premiered track is anything to go by, it’s also shaping up to be a tasty one too. Edinburgh ensemble Mt Doubt covering Glasgow band, Sister John’s ‘Nothing Else’ was premiered on Vic Galloways BBC Radio Scotland show and has already received numerous plaudits.
First launched on the 17th March, the project has already raised £6000, and is now the label stores biggest selling LP ever.
All tracks have been mastered by Paul McGeechan (Love & Money/Starless) and are available to preorder on CD and a choice of four colours of vinyl.
The compilation can be pre-ordered from the Last Night From Glasgow website, here:
