News: Nick Cave film, One More Time With Feeling, gets DVD release date

One More Time With Feeling

It’s fair to say, that 2016 wasn’t a great year for popular culture, as we lost more than a handful of our musical greats. With the loss of such legends as Prince, Bowie and George Michael, it’s important that whilst we remember them, we also appreciate our living legends. Legend is a word that gets thrown around too much, especially over the last twelve months, but in some cases there are no other words to describe such musical icons. That much can no doubt be said about Nick Cave. Cave has consistently delivered amazing music for over thirty years. With songs like The Mercy Seat, Into My Arms and his Kylie Minogue duet Where The Wild Roses Grow, it’s easy to say that Cave is one of the most innovative artists of his time.

Last year, Cave released his 16th studio album with his band The Bad Seeds, ‘The Skeleton Tree’. It was halfway throughout the recording of the album when Cave lost his fifteen year old son Arthur in a tragic accident. This documentary movie ‘One More Time With Feeling’ follows Cave through the recording of the album, and the emotional times that surrounded him at the time. Filmed in 3d, the film features interviews with Cave and the band, as well as live studio performances of songs from the new album.

After over 1700 screenings of the film, March 3rd sees its release on DVD and Blue-ray, with previously unseen footage.  In the meantime, give ‘The Skeleton Tree’ another visit, or any of Cave’s many classic tracks. See my favourite Nick cave and The Bad Seeds tracks below.
