News: Finnish metallers Nightwish announce new album details


Finland based symphonic metal ensemble Nightwish have announced details on their new upcoming album entitled Endless Forms Most Beautiful to be released on On March 30th.

This will be Nightwish’s 8th studio album, a follow up to 2011’s Imaginaerum and is the first album to include new vocalist Floor Jansen who says “it’s the first time I’m singing on an album I didn’t write myself.” Main man Tuomas Holopainen cites this quote from Charles Darwins The Origin Of Species as the inspiration for the new album;

“There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.”  

The detailed album artwork was created by long term collaborator Toxic Angel and the band have announced the album will feature evolutionary biologist and writer Richard Dawkins.

Nightwish will release lead single Élan beforehand on February 13th.The 4 track single will also include a radio edit, alternative version and unreleased non-album bonus track Sagan. The album will be available on standard CD, digi book including instrumental disc, double vinyl, earbook and via download.
