News: Woodkid, Nils Frahm collaborate on new mini-album featuring Robert De Niro

French orchestral-pop artist and acclaimed video director Woodkid will collaborate with world-renowned German pianist Nils Frahm on new mini-album / score called Ellis, out July 8th via Erased Tapes Records. Accompanied by a short movie by JR (French artist and director) and starring Robert De Niro, the movie will depict Ellis Island, a historic site most remembered for being a temporary home to some 12 million people, as they made their way to America during the first half of the 20th century.

The movie’s release is especially fitting at this time, as many people have to endure similar experiences. All the proceeds from this project will be dedicated to a special non-profit organization called Sea Watch, which aims to rescue and protect civilian refugees.

The debut screening will be one part of Nils Frahm’s Barbican weekender on July 2nd, and will be officially released in the following week, along with the official soundtrack.
