Premiere: Ceiling Spirits release new ambient track, Ultraquiet

Preparing to release the follow up from his lauded a self titled album, Mario Quadracci, aka Ceiling Spirits, there is a new single ‘Ultraquiet’ out that we’re delighted to premiere right here on Backseat Mafia today.

From beginning experimenting with sound in his basement, to meeting producer Gareth Jones who took his pieces and helped him transfer them onto record, to making this follow up, having to use analog synths instead of the string parts he wrote because of the coronavirus restrictions, Quadrucci has always striven for soaring melodies and experiments in sound.

Ultraquiet is no different from that, with shimmering effects he’s coaxed from his guitar and electronics, as it splatters across your ears, slowly morphing and changing, increasing in its intensity as it goes, with glimpses of pitch appearing in different places before being swallowed by the noise as it becomes all encompassing by the close of the piece.

Literally takes your breath away. Check it out, here
