PREMIERE: Curtis Godino Presents The Midnight Wishers debut ‘No Place Like Home’, announce album for February

Sounding like a fully realised trip back in time, the debut single from Curtis Godino Presents the Midnight Wishers introduces listeners to the trio under the stewardship of Godino, as they aim to recreate the feeling of 1960s girl groups with an appropriately psychedelic spin. We’re offering you the first listen of the dreamy ‘No Place Like Home’ today, as well as announcing details of the project’s debut album.

“I’ve always been a fan of girl groups and old generic love songs” says the Brooklyn-based Godino. “No matter how cheesy, they always get stuck in my head, so I decided I would try to make some of my own, with the help of my friends.” Which brings us to The Midnight Wishers themselves: Jin Lee, Rachel Herman and Jessica McFarland, who have come together from various walks of life; the latter is a member of bands such as Heavy Cream and Savoy Motel.

The trippy visual aesthetic and densely layered, haunting sound of ‘No Place Like Home’ serve as the first taste of their self-titled debut album, due on Friday February 11th via Shimmy-Disc. Tune in below and be swept away. (Epilepsy warning for the video from about 3 seconds in.)
