Premiere: Dom Goodchild The Void Starer Share Video For Single ‘I Am Unco-operative Radio’

Leicester artist Dom Goodchild The Void Starer is a kind of spoken word nihilistic punk-poet, and his new single ‘I Am Unco-operative Radio’ takes a defiant stab at what he describes as “‘the glossy, shallow cesspit of celebrity culture,” one that hinders its sycophantic followers from experiencing the deeper, richer, more complex aspects of what it means to be human.

The track is taken from his debut album which was due for release in 2020, but has since been rescheduled for February 2022 on Void Starer Records/Cargo Records.

Goodchild comments:

“’I Am Unco-Operative Radio’ is me grappling with the horrors of the human condition out loud. I am also both embracing and raging against the dark parts of my psyche as well as what I experience casually or witness on the ITV News. This is me snapping under the weight of life’s awfulness via this artistic format.”

Apocalyptic guitars that rip through the track which is turned disturbing with Goodchild’s menacing vocals and visceral lyrics. Both his voice and the music rise into a thunderous crescendo as the video sees him sitting on his sofa while various clips from films and concerts to topical life events flash in the background.
