Premiere: Equators – Second Wind

Equators are essentially the project of Trevor H, and they make rather lovely psychedelic pop out of San Francisco, CA. Describing their output as being an attempt to “break away from a (sometimes) forced or narrow structure within pop/rock music to conjure sounds/textures/melodies based on off-the-cuff exercises creating something charged with immediacy…little by little the project has invited the tighter-structured song model back a few paces” they’re preparing for the release their new album Gigantic Waves on March 3rd via It’s Just Great Records and we’re delighted to be able to premiere ‘Second Wind’ from the album.

It’s a slow moving, dreamy slice of psych, these razor sharp guitar lines cutting away at the fuggy nature of it all, while in the background acoustic instruments pop and prod at the sauntering rhythm, while synth lines weave their way around Trevor’s vocal lines, which lay lazily over the top. Lovely stuff.
