Premiere: Frontier Ruckus – Crabapples in the Century’s Storm

We’ve already fell for Michigan indie-rockers Frontier Ruckus on more than one occasion, and so we couldn’t pass up the chance to premiere ‘Crabapples in the Century’s Storm’, taken from their forthcoming album Sitcom Afterlife, which drops on Quite Scientific on November 11th.

It’s music for an autumn day, hints of the summer that give way to something you can snuggle up with, bringing you stories of past love gone sour, as ever with songwriter Matthew Milia, its vivid and emotive, stark yet warm and melodic.

It opens with gentle picked guitar, which gives way almost immediately to delicious country like harmonies. Its full of ebbs and flows, sparkling arrangments that mean the instruments, fiddles, accordians and banjos alongside the more expected formula just tumble over you, like the leaves being blown around on a day such as this.

Truly lovely stuff.
