PREMIERE: New Jersey’s Cold Weather Company share the snappy ‘Movement’ from forthcoming new record ‘Coalescence’

We premiered the lead single from New Jersey trio Cold Weather Company‘s new record toward the end of June, to head up the release of their Coalescence, Pt. 1 primer EP, and are equally pleased to premiere the next cut from it; and we mean ‘cut’ in the most literal sense. A self-contained track in itself, the single version of ‘Movement’, is a mere snippet in comparison to the album version of the song, which stretches to almost 9 minutes. The sumptuous strings you hear right as it fades out are a real tease, but the abbreviated, energetic song should nonetheless whet your appetite for Coalescence itself, which follows next month. Per the band:

“We try to build a journey into each of our songs, typically based on what one of us is experiencing. For Movement, we also wanted to capture the journeys of our listeners. While the single is only a piece of the full song, it kicks off the answer to a prompt we gave our community in 2019, asking what was stopping them from making progress. It’s rewarding to finally have the song out two years later, as my hope is that those who replied to the prompt are in healthier places mentally and physically. As that may not be the case for everyone, we can also acknowledge the work still ahead of each of us, and the importance of taking things as they are from moment to moment—without overthinking or being too hard on ourselves.”

Tune in below; the album arrives on Friday September 10th via Deko Entertainment.
